Bellator 192 takes place at Great Western Forum in Inglewood, California on Saturday (Jan. 20, 2017) at 9pm (ET) live on SPIKE TV. Welterweight champion Douglas Lima defends his title against former UFC title challenger Rory MacDonald.
Lima (28-6) hasn’t fought since June where he defeated UFC veteran Loren Larkin by unanimous decision at Bellator NYC. The 30-year-old has gone 3-0 since losing to Andrey Koreshkov, including a TKO victory where he avenged the loss to the Russian fighter at Bellator 164 in Nov. 2016. MacDonald (18-4) has had an even longer layoff competing back in May 2016 where he submitted Paul Daley at Bellator 179. The Canadian has only fought three times since 2015 and will be looking for his first two-fight win streak since Oct. 2014.
In the co-main event features a match up in the heavyweight tournament as Quinton “Rampage” Jackson squares off with Chael Sonnen. Jackson (37-12) had his five-fight win streak snapped in his last bout, losing by unanimous decision to King Mo in their rematch at Bellator 175. The 39-year-old hasn’t lost two-straight fights since January 2013. Sonnen (29-15-1) looks to build off his win over Wanderlei Silva at Bellator NYC where he won by unanimous decision. “The American Gangster” competes for just the third time since 2014, with two of those fights taking place last year.
Also on the card is former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler facing Goiti Yamauchi. Chandler (16-4) lost his title to Brent Primus due to injury at Bellator NYC which snapped his four-fight win streak. The 31-year-old competes in his first three-round fight since November 2015. Yamauchi (22-3) has won three-straight fights since moving up to the lightweight division in late 2016, including a first-round submission victory over previously undefeated Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 183. The 25-year-old has won six of his last seven fights.
