Shawn Bitter broke the news Tuesday that Jared Cannonier will now face newcomer Nick Roehrick at the TUF 25 Finale on Friday. His original opponent Steve Bosse had withdrawn from the event on Monday.
Roehrick (7-0) is coming off a first-round TKO victory in April, and he has won three of his last four fights by stoppage. The 29-year-old trains with UFC heavyweight Curtis Blaydes in Colorado.
Cannonier (9-2) heads into this matchup off a loss to former title challenger Glover Teixeira at UFC 208 in February. The loss snapped a two-fight win streak, including a bonus-winning knockout of Cyril Asker and a unanimous-decision win over Ion Cutelaba at the TUF 24 Finale last December.
