With UFC Fight Night 112 and Bellator 180 taking place last weekend, the MMAOddsBreaker rankings were bound to get shaken up. MMAOddsBreaker.com‘s Brian Hemminger (@BrianHemminger) has taken over the reigns of the rankings, which are updated after nearly every UFC event. As always, we only show changes in the rankings with this update. To access the full MMAOddsBreaker rankings, click here. Disagree? Light Heavyweight
1. Jon Jones
2. Daniel Cormier
3. Anthony Johnson
3. Alexander Gustafsson
4. Volkan Oezdemir
5. Ryan Bader (+2)
6. Phil Davis (-1)
7. Glover Teixeira (-1)
8. Jimi Manuwa
9. Mauricio Rua
10. Ilir Latifi
11. Misha Cirkunov
12. Ovince Saint Preux
13. Tyson Pedro
14. Gian Villante
With Ryan Bader narrowly defeating Phil Davis last weekend to capture the Bellator light heavyweight title, he leapfrogs Bader and moves up two spots in the rankings. It wasn’t a pretty fight, but Bader was effective with his jab en route to winning a decision. I know Bader lost to Teixeira in the past, but Teixeira is getting old, and I think Bader might be able to beat him now anyways.
Lightweight
1. Conor McGregor
2. Khabib Nurmagomedov
3. Tony Ferguson
4. Edson Barboza
5. Eddie Alvarez
6. Nate Diaz
7. Michael Johnson (+1)
8. Dustin Poirier (+1)
9. Justin Gaethje (+1)
10. Kevin Lee (NR)
11. Michael Chiesa (-4)
12. Al Iaquinta (-1)
13. Beneil Dariush (-1)
14. Mairbek Taisumov (-1)
15. Rashid Magomedov
It was a bit controversial with an early stoppage, but Kevin Lee was clearly the superior fighter in UFC Fight Night 112’s main event. Chiesa got the takedown, but Lee scrambled to his back and sunk in a rear naked choke which likely would have ended the fight if given a few more seconds. Also, Michael Chandler drops out after his fluke injury loss of his title at Bellator 180.
Women’s Strawweight
1. Joanna Jedrzejczyk
2. Claudia Gadelha
3. Jessica Andrade
4. Karolina Kowalkiewicz
5. Rose Namajunas
6. Tecia Torres
7. Randa Markos
8. Carla Esparza
9. Michelle Waterson
10. Joanne Calderwood (+1)
11. Juliana Lima (+1)
12. Cynthia Calvillo (+1)
13. Cortney Casey (+1)
14. Maryna Moroz (-4)
15. Viviane Pereira
Plain and simple, Maryna Moroz got dominated against Carla Esparza. She had no answer for Esparza’s wrestling, and it’s beginning to look more and more like Moroz’s UFC debut win over Joanne Calderwood was a one-hit wonder.
