MMA Odds and Ends for Tuesday: Junior dos Santos vs. Francis Ngannou in the works for UFC 215

According to MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani, a heavyweight matchup between former champion Junior Dos Santos and Francis Ngannou is in the works.

Dos Santos (18-5) came up short against Stipe Miocic at UFC 211, losing by first-round knockout in their heavyweight rematch.”Cigano” has alternated between wins and losses in his last four fights. Meanwhile, Ngannou (10-1) pushed his UFC record to 5-0 this past January when he knocked out Andrei Arlovski at UFC on FOX 23 in just 92 seconds. The 30-year-old has never made it past the second round in his career.

UFC 215 is rumored to take place at KeyArena in Seattle, Washington. The main event of that card is also rumored to feature local product Demetrious Johnson defending his flyweight title against TJ Dillashaw, who saw his bantamweight championship matchup versus Cody Garbrandt at UFC 213 called off due to injury.

UFC women’s featherweight champ Germaine de Randamie says she wants to move back to bantamweight

Germaine de Randamie posted on her Facebook yesterday that ideally her next fight would be at 135 pounds. De Randamie (7-3) won the inaugural 145-pound championship with a controversial victory against Holly Holm at UFC 208 in February. It looked like a matchup with Cristiane Justino seemed next, but that doesn’t seem like the case anymore. Here’s what she said below (Chrome users, right click and go “Translate to English”)…
