UFC Fight Night 109 took place Sunday (May 28, 2017) from Stockholm, Sweden. The card was headlined by a UFC Light Heavyweight fight between Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira.

Favorites that Won In a tremendous main event, Alexander Gustafsson’s uppercut was the difference maker, as he hurt Glover Teixeira throughout the fight with that punch. Gustafsson landed three of them in succession and followed it with a left hook in the fifth round to finish Teixeira. Gustafsson closed as a-300 favorite while Teixeira was at +250 in defeat.
Peter Sobotta landed his jab with ease throughout this bout, hurting Ben Saunders on multiple occasions to win by second round stoppage. Sobotta closed at -135 while Saunders was +115.
Nordine Taleb out-muscled newcomer Oliver Enkamp to a decision win. Taleb closed one of the biggest favorites on the card at -335 with Enkamp closing +275 in his UFC debut.
Jack Hermansson took Alex Nicholson and completely mauled him on the ground to win by first round TKO. Hermansson closed at -165 with Nicholson at +145.
The biggest favorite on the card, Pedro Munhoz, had an all-around solid performance against Damian Stasiak to win a unanimous decision on the scorecards. Munhoz closed a whopping -670 favorite with Stasiak at +485.
Despite missing weight by five pounds, Darren Till was able to return to the Octagon after an extended absence to dominate the striking exchanges and earn a unanimous-decision win over Jessin Ayari. Till closed a -275 favorite, while Ayari was a +235 underdog.
Joaquim Silva came from behind against a tired Reza Madadi to win a split decision in Madadi’s final MMA fight. Silva closed a -155 favorite with Madadi at +135.
Underdogs that Won In the co-main event, Volkan Oezdemir stunned Misha Cirkunov with a quick first-round knockout to put himself in light heavyweight title contention. Oezdemir closed as a +375 underdog while Cirkunov was -470 in one of the biggest upsets of 2017.
Omari Akhmedov was able to survive Abdul Razak Alhassan’s power shots and secure takedowns throughout the bout to win a split decision. Akhmedov closed as a +235 underdog with Alhassan a -275 favorite.
In a striker versus grappler matchup, the grappler excelled. Trevor Smith dominated with takedowns and top position in winning all three rounds over Chris Camozzi. Smith closed as a +130 favorite while Camozzi was -150.
Bojan Velickovic hurt a tired Nico Musoke in the final minute of the bout and finished with ground-and-pound to earn the biggest win of his career. Velickovic closed as a slight underdog at +110 with Musoke -130.
Damir Hadzovic stunned Marcin Held with a third-round knee to win the opening fight of the night. Hadzovic, who was down two rounds to none, closed as a +245 underdog while Held was -290 in defeat.
