Vitor Belfort vs. Nate Marquardt slated for UFC 212
According to a report from Combate, the UFC is targeting a middleweight bout between a pair of former UFC title challengers in Vitor Belfort and Nate Marquardt for UFC 212 on June 3 at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Belfort (25-14) has dropped four of his last five, including a first-round knockout loss to Kelvin Gastelum at UFC Fight Night 106 in his last fight. “The Phenom” has only won once since 2014.
Meanwhile, Marquardt (35-17-2) is 2-4 in his last six fights and is coming off on the wrong end of a judge’s decision at UFC on FOX 23 to Sam Alvey. The 38-year-old looks to avoid back-to-back losses for the third time in his career.
