480 Fabricio Werdum vs. Alistair Overeem trilogy fight slated for UFC 213 on July 8th  FloCombat broke the news Wednesday that a trilogy matchup between former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum and Alistair Overeem is in the works for UFC 213 on July 8th in Las Vegas. Werdum (21-6-1) defeated Overeem at Pride Total Elimination Absolute in May 2006 by second-round submission. In the rematch, Overeem defeated the Brazilian by unanimous decision at Strikeforce: Overeem vs Werdum in June 2011. The 39-year-old heads into this matchup off a unanimous decision victory over Travis Browne at UFC 203. Werdum was slated to face Cain Velasquez (injury) at UFC 207 and then Ben Rothwell (USADA violation) at UFC 211, but neither matchup materialized. Overeem (42-15-10) has won five of his last six fights, including a third-round TKO victory over Mark Hunt at UFC 209 this past January. Yancy Medeiros vs. Erick Silva set for UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro UFC officials announced that welterweights Erick Silva and Yancy Medeiros will clash at UFC 212 on June 3rd. In addition, Combate is reporting that a middleweight matchup between Paulo Borrachinha and Oluwale Bamgbose has also been added to the card. Silva (19-7) is coming off a much needed submission victory over Luan Chagas at UFC Fight Night 95. The win snapped the 32-year-old’s two-fight losing streak where he suffered setbacks against Neil Magny and Nordine Taleb. Medeiros (13-4) heads into this matchup off a second-round submission victory over Sean Spencer at UFC 203 in September. The 29-year-old has gone 2-2 in his last four fights. Borrachinha (9-0) emerged victorious in his UFC debut earlier this month when he knocked out Garreth McLellan in the first round at UFC Fight Night 106. The 25-year-old improved to 9-0 with the victory and has won all of those fights by knockout. Bamgbose (6-2) was slated to fight Tom Breese at UFC Fight Night 107, however, the Englishman was pulled from the fight due to medical reasons. The 29-year-old has gone 1-2 in the UFC and will be competing for the first time in over 14 months.
