UFC on FUEL TV 10 was one of the most entertaining cards top to bottom of the year as 10 of the 12 fights on the card ended by either knockout or submission. Here’s a betting recap of the event based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers: UFC On FUEL TV 10 Favorites That Won In the main event of the evening, Fabricio Werdum defeated Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via second-round submission (armbar) to cash as a big favorite in the battle of TUF Brazil coaches. Werdum used his extra weight and strength to survive Nogueira’s attacks in the first and win by technical submission in the second. Werdum cashed at -265 (bet $265 to win $100) favorite, while Nogueira was a +245 underdog (bet $100 to win $245). In the finals of the TUF Brazil 2 reality show, Leonardo Santos defeated William Macario via second-round submission to cash as a hefty favorite. Santos wasn’t doing great in the first but after Macario started gassing in the second Santos took advantage and won by submission. Santos closed at -150, while Macario closed at +140. In a welterweight bout, Erick Silva submitted Jason High with a first-round triangle/armbar combination. It was an amazing win for Silva, who looks like a serious prospect at 170, and it will push him to the upper tier of the division. Silva closed at -410, while High closed at +365. In a middleweight bout, Daniel Sarafian defeated Eddie Menedez via first-round submission. There’s not much to say about this fight other than that Sarafian is pretty good, and he cashed at -440 while Mendez was an underdog at +390. In a featherweight fight, Rony Jason defeated Mike Wilkinson via first-round submission (triangle choke and elbows) to cash as a big fav. Jason looked great in the fight, and the Brazilian closed at -330, while Wilkinson closed at +300. In a bantamweight bout, Raphael Assuncao defeated Vaughan Lee via second-round submission (armbar) to cash as a sizeable favorite. Not many gave Lee much of a chance to win and although he looked OK in the first round, he looked poor in the second and lost via tapout. Assuncao closed at -430, while Lee closed at +380. In a featherweight bout, Felipe Arantes defeated Godofredo Castro via first-round TKO (elbows). Although Castro was looking okay in the grappling department, Arantes was able to get a dominant position on Castro and he finished him off with brutal elbows. Arantes closed at -220, while Castro closed at +200. In a welterweight bout, Ildemar Alcantara defeated Leandro Silva via unanimous decision. It was one of the most boring fights of the night, but Alcantara deserved the W. Alcantara closed at -171, while Silva closed at +161. In a featherweight bout, Rodrigo Damm defeated Mizuto Hirota, two of the three judges scoring it for 29-28 in favor of Damm. It was a close fight but Damm got the win and in his home country who was surprised? Damm closed at -155, while Hirota closed at +!45. In the first fight of the night, Antonio Braga Neto defeated Anthony Smith via first-round submission (kneebar) in what was one of the most impressive finishes of the night. Neto was able to outstrike Smith on the feet and then take him to the ground and easily win by sub. Neto closed at -240, while Smith closed at +220. UFC On FUEL TV 10 Underdogs That Won In a light heavyweight bout, Thiago Silva defeated Rafael Cavalcante in a one-round brawlfest fest via TKO. Both men had their opportunities in the standup but it was ultimately Silva that connected with Cavalcane’s chin first and he won by TKO. Silva closed as a dog +185, while Cavalcante closed at -200. In a middleweight bout, Caio Magalhaes defeated Karlos Vemola via second-round submission to cash as a slight underdog. Vemola was winning the first round but in the second Magalhaes changed the direction of the bout with his impressive grappling and after he got the fight to the floor he was able to submit his opponent with a rear-naked choke. Magalhaes closed at +115, while Vemola closed at -125.
