This Saturday, before you settle in for UFC on FUEL TV 10, KSW returns with their entertaining, and sometimes wacky, style of MMA. KSW 23 will be a huge hit in Poland, and it should hold some intrigue for all fans of MMA. There are three notable fights on the card, and two of them feature highly skilled Polish fighters. The other… well, it’s Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. Sean McCorkle. The main event is an excellent fight between Poland’s top ranked fighter, Mamed Khalidov, and slugger Melvin Manhoef. As always, Manhoef will pose a huge threat on the feet, but Khalidov has not been stopped with strikes since his very first pro MMA fight back in 2004. On the ground, this is no contest, Khalidov has 14 career submission wins and will add another if this fight hits the mat. The other intrigue on this card lies in watching the continued development of Michal Materla, who is a skilled submission artist. He is taking on UFC veteran and current MMA journeyman Kendall Grove in a middleweight bout. Grove’s own submission game could force Materla to show off the other aspects of his game, which will be a key if he wants to step up to the next level and get a shot in the UFC. Today, MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas opened the betting lines for KSW 23 at Several Bookmakers.
