For the first time since the middle of January, the Invicta Fighting Championships are back in action this Saturday (March 25, 2017) with their 22nd women’s MMA card from the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City. Headlining the main card, which will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass, will be a second bantamweight title bout between champion Tonya Evinger (18-5, 1 No-Contest) and challenger Yana Kunitskaya (9-2, 1 NC). The two 135-pounders battled to what ended up being a controversial No-Contest in their first meeting at Invicta FC 20 last November 18th after Evinger appealed an original first-round submission win by Kunitskaya. This rematch will no doubt settle the score, with the champ putting her 10-fight unbeaten streak on the line. Seven other bouts will be on the main card, including Kal Holliday (1-0) versus Miranda Maverick (1-0) in a strawweight matchup. MMAOB’s own James Lynch interviewed Holliday about the fight.
