B.J. Penn vs. Dennis Siver, Johny Hendricks vs. Tim Boetsch set for UFC Fight Night 112 in Oklahoma City UFC officials announced Wednesday that former UFC welterweight and lightweight champion B.J. Penn will return against Dennis Siver at UFC Fight Night 112. The promotion also announced that Johny Hendricks will battle Tim Boetsch in a middleweight affair. Penn (16-11-2) is coming off a second-round TKO loss to Yair Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night 103. It was the Hawaiian’s first fight in over two years. Siver (22-11) hasn’t competed since a unanimous-decision loss to Tatusya Kawajiri in June 2015. The 38-year-old was scheduled to fight Penn at UFC 199 in June 2016, but he was forced off the card due to injury. Hendricks (18-6) snapped a three-fight losing streak in his middleweight debut, defeating Hector Lombard by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Halifax. Boetsch (20-11) is coming off a first-round submission setback to Jacare Souza at UFC 208. The 36-year-old has gone 2-4 in his last six fights. Also added to the card is a women’s strawweight contest between Felice Herrig (12-6) and Justine Kish (6-0) along with a light heavyweight matchup pitting Jeremy Kimball (14-6) versus Josh Stansbury (8-3). WSOF champ Andre Harrison talks about defeating Lance Palmer & what’s next for him UFC requests T-Mobile Arena for three straight shows during International Fight Week Wednesday at a meeting of the Nevada State Athletic Commission in Las Vegas, the UFC requested permits for three straight days of events at T-Mobile Arena from July 6th through 8th. This is part of the sixth annual International Fight Week, where the UFC holds three events in a row every July. While none of the events have been officially announced, MMAJunkie reports that the following events are expected to take place
- A UFC Fight Night card is slated to take place on Thursday, July 6th and will air on FS 1
- The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale should take place the following evening on July 7th. This season features former UFC fighters vying for a long-term contract. This will also air on FOX Sports 1.
- In all likelihood, UFC 213 will be on Pay-Per-View the night after that on July 8th. No matchups have been announced, but according to multiple sources, former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre (25-2) could take on middleweight champion Michael Bisping (30-7) in the main event of this card.
This marks the first year the UFC plans to hold all of its International Fight Week events at T-Mobile Arena in Vegas.
