However, I do think the Total of Over 1.5 rounds at -115 holds some value, as I think this heavyweight title fight gets out of the first round more often than not and has a good chance of making it to the third as well. I think there’s a decent chance it reaches the judges’ scorecards for a decision too, though I would not lay my money on that. I could see a late finish coming on either side in this scrap, but an early finish, not as much. I’ll ride with the Over. Gabe’s Call: Ivanov by T/KO (punches, 2:53 round 3) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 1.5 rounds (-115) Featherweight title bout: Andre Harrison (-130) vs. Lance Palmer (+110) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this World Series of Fighting featherweight title fight will hit the judges’ scorecards for a decision more often than not, which makes me favor the Total of Over 4.5 rounds for a wager at its currently offered price of -150. I think this is a very close fight, so I can’t back either fighter with my wallet at these near coin-flip odds. I think the best bet here is the Over, and I’ll take it to cash on Saturday night. Gabe’s Call: Palmer by Split Decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 4.5 rounds (-150) Featherweight bout: Hakeem Dawodu (-450) vs. Steven Siler (+330) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is an excellent matchup, and I really liked Dawodu at -175, however he quickly creeped all the way up to -450, and I see no betting value in him at the current price. At these odds, I see this fight as a dog or pass situation, and I am ultimately going to opt to pass on making a straight play on the underdog here. Siler is a solid striker with excellent Muay Thai skills, but I think he will be outgunned on the feet in this contest. I think Dawodu is the more dangerous striker and has a good chance of ending this fight early. I think Siler’s best chance at victory is to submit Dawodu. That said, I think the best play for this fight is the Total of Under 1.5 rounds, as I think that in victory both fighters are likely to win inside the distance more often than not.
