World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 35 took place Saturday (March 18, 2017) at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, NY and featured three title fights. All six out of six bouts with betting lines saw the favorites cash, with no underdogs finding success according to the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Favorites Who Won Blagoy Ivanov successfully defended his World Series of Fighting heavyweight title with a first-round knockout of UFC and Strikeforce veteran Shawn Jordan. Ivanov knocked Jordan down and followed up with a ground-and-pound to put him out of consciousness and force the referee stoppage. The champion defended his title as the -140 betting favorite while Jordan suffered the loss as a +130 underdog. Andre Harrison defeated Lance Palmer by unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards after five rounds of action to become the new World Series of Fighting featherweight champion, the sixth in promotional history. He dropped and nearly finished the Team Alpha Male product a number of times, but the two-time WSOF featherweight champ toughed it out and fought to the final bell, where he saw his title leave him for the second time. Harrison — a Long Island native who gave up his Titan FC featherweight title for a WSOF contract — became champion as a -150 betting favorite while Palmer saw his title slip away as a +140 underdog. Bekbulat Magomedov defeated Donovan Frelow via unanimous decision following five rounds of action that largely saw him dominate his opponent on the mat using his superior grappling to pick up the nod and capture the vacant World Series of Fighting bantamweight title. The Dagestani fighter became the WSOF 145-pound champ as a -925 betting favorite to win, and his short-notice opponent Frelow came up short at +725. Abukabar Nurmagomedov defeated Matt Secor by unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards following three rounds of action, ultimately getting his hand raised as a -700 favorite. Secor failed to come through as a +460 betting underdog. Hakeem Dawodu defeated UFC veteran Steven Siler via unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards after three rounds of one-sided action to keep his undefeated record intact. He continues to make a name for himself and will likely be promoted on the main card his next time out. In victory, Dawodu cashed as a -300 betting favorite with Siler falling as a +250 underdog. Islam Mamedov defeated Nathan Schute via armbar submission with only four seconds remaining in the second round of their bout.
