UFC Fight Night 105: Lewis vs. Browne Date: February 19, 2017 Arena: Scotiabank Centre City: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada for the second time in promotional history this Sunday (February 19, 2017) with UFC Fight Night 105: Lewis vs. Browne. The 11-fight card is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass, then continue with preliminary action on FOX Sports 1 at 7 p.m. The six-fight main card will get underway at 9 p.m. on the same channel. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available to you at Several Bookmakers. The ‘Fight of the Night’ plays that hold the most value are: Felder/Ricci (+675) || 1u to win 6.75u If this fight stays standing, which I think and hope it will, then it should be a fun striking battle that lasts three rounds. Paul Felder and Alex Ricci are both talented strikers, and I think pitting them against each other inside the Octagon is a recipe for potential fireworks, so there is a good chance that we will be in for a fun scrap when these 155-pounders square off to kick off the main card in Halifax. Ricci is an Italian-born Canadian, so I expect the crowd to be into the fight and on his side. Both lighteweights are also in dire need of victory in this matchup, as they are off coming off losses and have their backs against the wall heading into this one. Often times that could mean that the fighters opt to play it safe, but with these two, I think it will be the opposite. I expect them to give it their all in an effort to get their hand raised. At +675, this play is worth a shot. Should Felder and Ricci manage to take home the ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus, it would be the second time for Felder while being the first for Ricci in what will be his second Octagon appearance. Ponzinibbio/Taleb (+370) || 1u to win 3.7 Santiago Ponzinibbio and Nordine Taleb generally produce entertaining fights when they step foot in the Octagon, and this matchup is stylistically made to be another one, which explains the +370 betting line. I almost opted to go with Sicilia/Tucker (+700) or Meerschaert/Janes (+900) instead of this play but ultimately decided to stick with this one, as I favor the other two bouts to conclude in the opening frame, and there is the potential that the Sicilia/Tucker fight could turn into a wrestling snoozefest. I don’t love the price at +370, but I think it is the most likely scrap to take home the prize. I passed on Poirier/Miller last week at similar odds and ended up regretting it, so hopefully this hits and makes up for it. Should these welterweights take home the ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, it would be the second time for Argentina’s Ponzinibbio while being the first for Canada’s Taleb.
