UFC Fight Night 104: Bermudez vs Korean Zombie Date: February 4, 2016 Arena: Toyota Center City: Houston, TX The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in Houston, TX for the fifth time in promotional history with UFC Fight Night 104: Bermudez vs Korean Zombie. The 12-fight card kicks off with preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass at 7pm ET, and the prelims continue on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm, with the main card getting underway at 10pm. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available to you at Several Bookmakers. My Over/Under Totals are: Light Heavyweight bout: Ovince St Preux (-320) vs Volkan Oezdemir (+290) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Oezdemir is a live dog here in his UFC debut and am still contemplating making a straigt play on him. Perhaps I will take the T/KO prop instead, but I don’t know, because it would not shock me to see him win this fight on thejudges’ scorecards. While I’m uncertain about playing Oezdemir, a play I am on is the Total of Under 1.5 rounds for the contest, as I think both 205-pounders are more likely to win this contest within the first seven and a half minutes of action than not. Regardless of who gets his hand raised here, I think the fight ends early more often than not. Gabe’s Call: Oezdemir by T/KO (punches, 0:19 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Under 1.5 rounds (-113) 1.13u to win 1u Strawweight bout: Jessica Andrade (-525) vs Angela Hill (+450) Gabe’s Thoughts: Invicta FC Strawweight Champion returns for her second stint in the UFC, where she started her professional mixed martial arts career, to take on Brazil’s Jessica Andrade in what is a potential title eliminator. I am a fan of Hill’s, but I think Andrade will be able to get the better of her in this contest. I see her using her dirty boxing and wrestling to win this fight, and contary to popular opinion, I think she wins on the judges’ scorecard more often than not, despite being a finisher and coming off two straight finishes at 115-pounds. I would not be surprised to see her finish Hill, especially considering the fact that nearly everyone is expecting her to, but I favor her to win this fight on the cards, and for that reason, I like the Total of Over 2.5 rounds at the slight underdog price-tag of +102. I think it is a safe play, in case Hill manages to pull off the upset, which would likely be because she managed to keep the fight standing for the majority of three rounds to outstrike Andrade for a decision nod. I really like Andrade in this spot, but I think -525 is too high an asking price. At the current odds, I think this fight is a “dog or pass” situation and I am going to pass on a straight play and just take the Over. Gabe’s Call: Andrade by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 2.5 rounds (+102) 2u to win 2.04u
