Five Props that Cashed BIG at UFC Fight Night 101 in Melbourne

Andrew HolbrookFive Props is a column featured on www.MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here’s five UFC Fight Night 101 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. 1) Holbrook by Decision (+975) Andrew Holbrook came through as the biggest betting underdog on the entire fight card, cashing in up to +435 for his backers and +975 by decision for those who were wise enough to be on that one, and congratulations to you if you were! The Indiana native used his superior submission game to outgrapple the Australian for a split-decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. 2) Akhmedov by Decision (+300) Omari Akhmedov snaps a two-fight losing streak and returns to the win column at 170 pounds with a unanimous-decision victory over former teammate Kyle Noke. Akhmedov used his superior striking and grappling to earn a one-sided nod from the judges at Octagon-side. Noke announced his retirement following the bout while Akhmedov by Decision bettors cashed their tickets at a cool +300. 3) Volkanovski by T/KO (+360) Alex Volkanovski was impressive in his promotional debut, dismantling and defeating Japan’s Yusuke Kasuya via second-round ground-and-pound TKO. Following the contest, Volkanovski said that he would like to fight at featheweight and eventually drop to the bantamweight division, which is where he feels he belongs. On the wagering front, those of you who figured he would win this fight by T/KO and backed that feeling with your wallets cashed out at a pretty nice +360. 4) Kelly by Decision (+345) Daniel Kelly surprised many by getting the better of Chris Camozzi everywhere in this contest, mainly in the clinch and grappling, to pick up a unanimous-decision victory on the judges’ scorecards after three rounds of action. If there were a few more seconds on the clock, this fight could have been a T/KO and we could have been looking at the T/KO prop cashing at +1000. Luckily for those who wagered on the Kelly by Decision prop who cashed out at a sweet +345! Congrats if you were on that one, especially if you tailed me on it, as that was a play I recommended in my props article for the card. 5) Meunier by Decision (+310) Jonathan Meunier was impressive in his second Octagon appearance, picking up his first UFC victory with a unanimous-decision win over Australia’s own Richard Walsh. Meunier proved to be the superior all-around mixed martial artist throughout the contest, spending the majority of the 15 minutes of action outstriking Walsh to earn the unanimous-decision nod from the judges. Those who backed the French-Canadian to win this one on the judges’ scorecards cashed out at a solid +310. A $100 parlay on these five props would have netted $360,786.
