White releases new video blog detailing surgery UFC president Dana White has released the first of two video blogs for UFC on FOX 6. Warning: this video shows White’s ear surgery in graphic detail so viewer beware if you are sensitive to blood and that sort of thing. Here’s the video: Hawn’s sponsor smartens up, pays him after social media outcry After Rick Hawn took to Facebook and Twitter to say that his sponsor, HTFU, didn’t pay him his sponsorship money for his recent bout against Bellator world lightweight champion Michael Chandler, the sponsor has decided to fess up and pay Hawn his $1500. Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com spoke to HTFU CEO and owner Mark Gingrich, who confirmed that after the backlash against him he’s sent Hawn his check. Originally, he had decided he wasn’t going to pay Hawn because he lost to Chandler via submission, and Ginginch didn’t think it was a good performance. The two only had a verbal agreement and nothing contractually written. For fighters like Hawn who aren’t stars, $1,500 is the difference between paying your rent at the end of the month and not being able to, so it’s good to seeRicardo Lamas Gingrich live up to his word and pay Hawn, but fighters will be wary to work with HTFU in the future. Lamas wants featherweight title shot with win over Koch UFC featherweight contender Ricardo Lamas fights Erik Koch in the opening main card bout of UFC on FOX 6 this Saturday night in Chicago. Lamas talked to BJPenn.com and said with a win he’d like to get a title shot against the winner of the featherweight title fight between Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo at UFC 156. Lamas said the UFC actually had him booked to fight both Edgar and Aldo at points late last year before ultimately deciding to pair him up with Koch instead. Considering Koch also had a title shot taken away from him, it makes sense that this bout determines who next fights for the 145-pound strap.
