MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Legacy FC 62 featherweight Justin Rader as he prepares for his upcoming co-main event fight tonight (Friday, November 11, 2016) against Mike Maldonado at Firelake Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Editor’s note: This interview was conducted while Rader was planning on fighting Zac Church but there were some good tidbits about other things.
The Oklahoma City native had issues trying to make the bantamweight division and he feels extremely comfortable now that he’s back and fighting at a more natural weight class:
“I ran my body into the ground with training last year. I was trying to make 135 pounds and it’s just not the weight class for me which is what we decided. We moved back up to 145 and I felt absolutely fantastic. My camps became all about cutting weight last year. It was something I felt like I had to do. It was a weight I felt like I had to fight at and I no longer believe that. I feel great at 145 and that’s where I’m gonna stay for right now.”
