Bellator was back in action earlier today (Thursday, November 10, 2016) for its 164th event taking place in Tel Aviv, Israel. The event featured a headlining bout with a welterweight title fight between champion Andrei Koreshkov and former champ Douglas Lima. Overall on the night, three betting favorites were victorious while one underdog picked up a win based on Several Bookmakers‘s closing odds. Bellator 164 Favorites That Won In the co-main event of the evening, Israeli native Noad Lahat got the crowd fired up by dismantling Scott Cleve, quickly taking the fight to the floor and submitting Cleve with a rear naked choke at the midway point of the first round. Lahat pulled it out as a -215 (Bet $215 to win $100) favorite while Cleve was a +165 underdog. In a women’s flyweight attraction, Lena Ovchynnikova took on Karla Benitez in a one-sided affair. Ovchynnikova was simply the better striker and she was able to outwork, outpoint and outpace Benitez over the course of three rounds, winning all three on the judges’ scorecards for a unanimous decision victory. Ovchynnikova came through as a -300 favorite while Benitez was +220. In the opening bout of the main card at a 150 pound catchweight, Georgi Karakhanyan defeated hometown Israeli fighter Kirill Medvedovsky by default after Medvedovsky suffered a shoulder injury in the first round and was unable to continue, giving Karakhanyan an injury TKO victory. Karakhanyan was a massive -475 favorite while Medvedovsky was a +325 dog. Bellator 164 Underdogs that Won In the main event of the evening, welterweight champion Andrei Koreshkov seemed to be in control after a measured stand-up affair in the first two rounds, but he got a bit overaggressive in the third frame, backing former champ Douglas Lima towards the fence and left himself open to a huge left hook which knocked him out. Douglas Lima is the first two-time champion in Bellator welterweight history. Lima was victorious despite being a massive +180 (Bet $100 to win $180) underdog while Koreshkov lost as a -260 favorite.
