UFC 189’s Jeremy Stephens: ‘It freaks people out when they get hit by me’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 189 featherweight Jeremy Stephens as he prepares for his upcoming main card fight this Saturday night (July 11, 2015) against Dennis Bermudez at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The scrappy veteran packs some serious power in his punches and he feels Bermudez won’t be any different than everyone else when he feels the heat from his strikes:

“[Dennis Bermudez] is gonna try to push the pace and try to wrestle me up. That’s a given. I know that people are going to wrestle me up just for the fact that I hit hard, I know I hit hard and it freaks people out when they get hit by me. That’s just a natural gift that I have. Naturally, I’ve had so many fights. What do people do when they get hit? They’re gonna try to take me down, they’re gonna try to hold me, get in the clinch and that’s just the reality. That’s what he’s gonna try to do. If he decides to be a meathead and throw with me, I’m gonna knock him out.”
