Plays for Bellator 138

patricio_pitbullBellator FC returns tonight with Bellator 138: Unfinished Business. The 14-fight card kicks off on Bellator.com at 7pm ET with nine bouts, followed by a five fight main card on Spike TV at 9pm ET. If interested in wagering on any this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my plays for Bellator 138: Heavyweight bout: Ken Shamrock (+248) vs Kimbo Slice (-270) Gabe’s Thoughts: For me, it’s hard to see this fight playing out any other way than Slice scoring an early T/KO, but I guess I could see Shamrock somehow managing a takedown, and from there, a submission finish. I think Kimbo wins this fight, but I’m more confident in the Under 1.5 rounds than I am in him straight up on the moneyline. Gabe’s Call: Slice by T/KO (punch, 0:14 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Under 1.5 rounds (-300) 3u to win 1u Featherweight title bout: Daniel Weichel (+255) vs Patricio Freire (-280) Gabe’s Thoughts: I do not agree with the current betting odds, as I think this is a close fight, and one in which I am actually favoring the underdog to get his hand raised. I think Weichel should be a -140 favorite heading into this contest, so I really like him for a large value play at his current tag of +255. Gabe’s Call: Weichel by Unanimous Decision (48-47, 49-46, 48-47) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Weichel (+255) 4u to win 10.2u Lightweight bout: Derek Campos (+485) vs Michael Chandler (-575) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this fight is closer than the betting odds currently suggest, however I can’t quite get myself to pull the trigger on Campos. Perhaps if he was +550, I would take a stab. I think he could edge out a decision if he really shows up on top of his game and Chandler misses a beat or two in his performance. While I don’t feel too comfortable playing him at +485, I do like the total of Over 2.5 rounds here at -115, as I see this 155-pound scrap reaching the judges’ scorecards more often than not. A finish by either party would come at no surprise, but they are both tough and durable fighters, so even in an action-packed three rounds filled with damage on both sides, I think they will both survive to hear the judges’ scores. Gabe’s Call: Chandler by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: OVER 2.5 rounds (-115) 1.15u to win 1u
