MMA Odds and Ends for Thursday: Andrade vs. Stahl Added to TUF Brazil 4 Finale

viscardi-andrade Another fight has been announced for an upcoming UFC Fight Night card. Here are my initial thoughts on the bout. Viscardi Andrade vs. Andreas Stahl, TUF Brazil 4 Finale A welterweight matchup between Viscardi Andrade and Andreas Stahl has been set for the TUF Brazil 4 Finale, which takes place June 27 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The fight booking was first revealed by MMAFighting.com. Andrade, a TUF Brazil 2 competitor, has not fought in well over a year due to a broken leg. The Brazilian is 1-1 in the UFC with a brutal KO win over Bristol Marunde at UFC 163 and a decision loss to Nico Musoke. Prior to the loss to Musoke, Andrade had racked up six-straight wins, including a submission victory over Elizeu Zaleski, who fights this weekend. He is quite experienced, having fought the likes of Charles Oliveira and Iuri Alcantara earlier in his career, although he lost to both men. He has improved since earlier in his career, but the injury layoff is clearly a major concern heading into this fight against Stahl. As for his opponent, the Swedish Stahl, he is 0-1 in the UFC with a decision loss to top prospect Gilbert Burns. He also has not fought in a while, since last July, so he’ll have some ring rust to shake off when he steps into the cage opposite Andrade, although of course not as much ring rust as Andrade has to deal with. While Andrade is more of a well-rounded finisher, Stahl is more of a grinder type, and will be looking to take advantage of Andrade’s time off and outwork him here, likely en route to a decision. This fight will likely play out in one of two ways. Either Stahl grinds Andrade out for three rounds, or Andrade catches him somewhere during the 15 minutes for a stoppage win. Considering the injury layoff, I have to lean towards Stahl in this one. I’m not particularly high on either guy but of the two I believe he has a slightly higher ceiling in the sport and I think he can do enough to get a win here. The odds will be close for this one, and I could see either guy being slightly favored, but my initial lean is Stahl.
