Gabe Killian’s Parlay for UFC 181 in Las Vegas

Urijah FaberUFC 181 Date: December 6, 2014 Arena: Mandalay Bay Events Center City: Las Vegas, NV The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be live from Las Vegas this Saturday night with UFC 181, which will be headlined by a pair of title fights. The main card will be live on Pay-Per-View at 10pm ET, with preliminary action preceding it on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm ET and UFC Fight Pass at 7pm ET. If interested in making this parlay, or any other wagers for this UFC fight card, you will be able to do so at Several Bookmakerss. Here’s my parlay for UFC 181 in Las Vegas: Bantamweight bout: Francisco Rivera (+360) vs Urijah Faber (-450) Gabe’s Thoughts: It is no secret that “The California Kid” has a massive grappling advantage over Rivera heading into this bout, and I think what most everyone thinks, that he will use said grappling edge to take Rivera down at will and win the fight there. I think it’s equally likely for him to take a decision or to submit Rivera, so I wouldn’t confidently bet on either prop, especially considering the current lines on them (+170 and +140) offer no real value. The only way Faber loses this fight is if he gets caught flush by Rivera, who is arguably the most punching power in the UFC’s 135 pound division, but I think the chances of that of happening are very slim. However, I would not be surprised if it does happen, as Faber is getting up there in age and recently suffered his first T/KO defeat, even though I personally thought it was a very bad stoppage by referee Herb Dean. For that reason, I will be arbing with a stab on Rivera by T/KO, which is currently at +705. In conclusion, I think this is a fight Faber will win 9.5 out of 10 times, so while I felt he was overpriced when the opening lines for the fight were released, after doing my homework I began to see value in him. Before doing my homework, I thought Sergio Pettis was going to be my key parlay piece, while thinking Faber was over-priced. After doing my homework, it’s been a bit of a switcheroo, as I now see Faber as my key parlay piece, and won’t be betting Pettis at all; in fact, I am betting against him. Saturday night will reveal whether my initial feelings were right, or whether the work I put in proved worthwhile. Gabe’s Call: Urijah Faber by Submission (rear naked choke, 4:31 round 1) Light Heavyweight bout: Corey Anderson (-330) vs Justin Jones (+270) Gabe’s Thoughts: Jones is stepping up a weight class and stepping in on short notice to make his UFC debut against The Ultimate Fighter Season 19 winner. Naturally a middleweight, I think the undefeated (at 3-0) Jones is a solid prospect who will have a future in the UFC’s 185 pound division, and while I think he will likely put up a good fight against Anderson, I think the Illinois native’s wrestling will prove to be too much for him, and he will ultimately lose a unanimous decision when the fight hits the judges’ scorecards after three rounds of action. I believe these fighters both have a future in the UFC and both have the potential to make a real run. Jones, an RFA veteran only has three professional fights under his belt, but he has a world of potential and the sky is the limit. I think this could prove to be a fun, competitive fight, but I feel Anderson’s superior wrestling will be what separates them, and I think he will use it to win every round en route to picked up the unanimous nod from the judges at ringside. Gabe’s Call: Anderson by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Urijah Faber (-450) parlayed with Corey Anderson (-330) for -169 2.45u to win 1.45u
