Titan FC 31 Closing Odds & Results

Desmond Green Titan FC 31 took place Friday night at USF Sundome in Tampa, Florida, and while the card overall wasn’t very entertaining, it at least ended with a bang in the main event. Overall from a betting perspective, three favorites won and one fight closed as a Pick ’em based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Here’s a quick recap for each fight. Favorites That Won In the main event of the evening, Desmond Green defeated Miguel Torres via first-round KO (knee and punches) to claim a shot at the Titan FC featherweight title. Green is on the rise at 145lbs but Torres is on the way out, and the fact Green was able to win in such devastating fashion wasn’t a shock to those who have been impressed with his fight-to-fight improvements over the years. Green, the favorite, closed at -265 (bet $265 to win $100), while Torres lost as a +245 (bet $100 to win $245) underdog. In a light heavyweight bout, Ken Hasegawa defeated Matt Thompson via unanimous decision (29-28 x 3). Hasegawa was able to control most of the fight, and although the veteran Thompson made things somewhat interesting later on, he still came up short. This was not a good fight at all, but the former DEEP heavyweight champion Hasegawa took it home. Hasegawa closed at -155 while Thompson closed at +145. In a welterweight bout, Tyler Stinson defeated Jose Figueroa via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). Figueroa was able to rock Stinson early but couldn’t finish him off, and Stinson was able to outstrike him for the rest of the fight to take home a competitive split decision win. Stinson closed at -170 while Figueroa closed at +160. Pick ‘Em Fights In a welterweight bout, Hayder Hassan defeated Felipe Portela via first-round TKO (punch). Hassan was able to land on Portela early in the fight and deliver a knockout that woke the sleeping crowd up (at least for a little while). Both fighters closed at -105.
