While Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) isn’t holding any events this weekend, there are still plenty of huge fights taking place in the next few months. UFC Fight Night 86 will occur on April 10th, and features the heavyweight slugfest between former champion Junior dos Santos and the surging Ben Rothwell. Dos Santos most recently lost via second round knockout to Alistair Overeem while Rothwell has now won four straight, including a second round submission of Josh Barnett just 10 days ago. UFC on Fox 19 will take place the following weekend and will feature several high profile bouts including a rematch between Dan Henderson and Lyoto Machida as well as a potential women’s strawweight number one contender bout between Rose Namajunas and Tecia Torres Just one week later on April 23rd, UFC 197 will feature a co-main event between flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson and undefeated former Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler Henry Cejudo. Cejudo has gone 4-0 thus far in the UFC to earn his shot while Johnson sits near the top of the pound-for-pound lists after successfully defending his title seven times thus far. Last but not least, former WWE standout CM Punk is hoping to make his UFC and overall professional mixed martial arts debut this summer at UFC 200. His opponent has already been decided, and it’ll be 2-0 fighter Mickey Gall, who requested an opportunity to fight Punk on the first episode of Dana White’s “Looking for a Fight” series.
