MMA Odds and Ends for Tuesday: Page vs. Gonzalez set for Bellator 151, UFC Boston adds Mendes/Mutapcic

Bellator 151 adds Michael Page vs. Fernando Gonzalez  Per MMA Fighting a welterweight matchup has been added to Bellator 151’s co-main event. Page (9-0) has won all of his professional bouts by stoppage and is coming off a first round TKO victory over Charlie Ontiveros at Bellator 144 back in October. Gonzalez (24-13) is coming off a decision loss to Paul Daley in a kickboxing match at Bellator MMA: Dynamite 1 back in September. However he has remained undefeated in the Bellator cage, going 4-0 with victories over notable fighters Karl Amoussou and Marius Zaromskis. Page will meet veteran welterweight Fernando Gonzalez in the co-main event of Bellator 151 on March 4 at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla., sources told MMA Fighting on Monday. Bellator officials confirmed the bout. Bellator 151 is headlined by Joe Warren taking on Darrion Caldwell. The event takes place at the  WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, OK. No other matchups have been announced for the event.   Augusto Mendes steps up to fight Charles Rosa at UFC Fight Night 81  Mendes (5-0) replaces the injured Jimmy Hettes against featherweight Charles Rosa.  The 32-year old  has won all of his fights by stoppage, with four submission victories to his resume. He won Legacy’s bantamweight title this past July at Legacy FC 43. He was slated to defend his belt against Ricardo Ramos next month at Legacy FC 51 before the UFC call-up.   UFC Fight Night 81 adds Elvis Mutapcic, who takes short notice fight against Francimar Barroso Mutapcic (15-3) replaces the injured Abdul-Kerim Edilov against Francimar Barroso. The former MFC middleweight champion also steps up to light heavyweight for just the second time in his career and is currently 7-1 in his last eight fights. He was slated to take on Anthony Smith in the main event of Victory FC 47 on Jan. 29th live on UFC Fight Pass. UFC Fight Night 81 takes place Sunday at TD Garden in Boston. Replacing him is Brazillian Patricky Freire. Freire (14-7) takes this fight on two-weeks notice and is coming off a controversial split-decision loss to Derek Anderson at Bellator 147. Couture (10-3) is coming off a first round submission victory over Dakota Cochrane at Bellator 135. The son of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture has won four-straight fights.
