UFC 222 Closing Odds and Betting Results

UFC 222 took place Saturday, March 3, 2018 in the fight capitol of the world, Las Vegas, Nevada. The card was headlined by a women’s featherweight title bout between champion Cris Cyborg and Yana Kunitskaya.

Favorites that Won

Cris Cyborg was taken down early in the first round by Yana Kunitskaya, but once the fight got back to the feet Cyborg took over and quickly dismissed her opponent to retain the title. Cyborg closed -1000 with the return on Kunitskaya +600.

Sean O’Malley won the first two rounds of this bout, but needed to survive in the final round after severely hurting his foot to win a decision over Andre Soukhamthath. O’Malley closed -145 while Soukhamthath closed +125.

Ketlen Vieira utilized her strength to get Cat Zingano to the mat to control the better part of two rounds to win a decision. Vieira closed -200. Zingano closed +170.

Mackenzie Dern landed a critical takedown late in the third down and dominated on the mat to earn a split decision victory over Ashley Yoder. Dern closed -485. Yoder closed +400.

Utilizing a primarily left handed attack, John Dodson got the best of Pedro Munhoz winning by split decision. Dodson closed -160 while Munhoz closed +140.

Zak Ottow dropped Mike Pyle in the first round and followed up with ground and pound to earn a TKO victory. Ottow closed -330. Pyle closed +270.

In a very close fight, Cody Stamann stuffed 19 of 20 takedowns to take a split decision victory over Bryan Caraway. Stamann closed -120 while Caraway closed +100.

Jordan Johnson was able to push Adam Milstead against the cage the majority of the fight controlling the action to win a rather lethargic split decision. Johnson closed -240 with the return on Milstead +205.

Underdogs that Won

Brian Ortega earned a featherweight title shot by being the first fighter to ever finish Frankie Edgar by knocking him out in the first round. Ortega closed +135 while Edgar closed -155.

Andrei Arlovski outworked Stefan Struve to win a clear decision across all three scorecards. Arlovski closed +160 with the return on Struve -185.

A stunning knockout by Alexander Hernandez in the first round gave him the victory over top ten lightweight Beneil Dariush. Darish closed -420 while Hernandez closed +335.

Pickem Fighters to Win

Hector Lombard landed a punch after the bell rang at the end of round one that knocked CB Dollaway to the mat. Dollaway was unable to continue and he was awarded the victory by disqualification. Dollaway and Lombard both closed -110.
