CES MMA 48 Opening Betting Odds

CES MMA 48 takes place at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island, on Friday (Feb. 2, 2018) at 7pm ET live on AXS TV. With heavyweight champion Juliano Coutinho retiring, the vacant heavyweight title is up for grabs as Contender Series’ Greg Rebello faces UFC veteran Travis Wiuff in the main event

Rebello (23-8) has won three of his last four fights including a first-round TKO victory over Derek Brown in his last fight at CES 47. The 35-year-old lone blemish during that span was a third-round TKO setback to Azunna Anyanwu at Dana White’s Contender Series 1 back in July. Wiuff (75-21, 1 NC) competes for the first time since October 2016 and has won two of his last five fights. The 96-fight veteran has fought the likes of Keith Jardine, Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Ricco Rodriguez and King Mo. The 39-year-old will be making his promotional debut

In the co-main event, fan favorite Dinis Paiva will face off with Kevin Barberena in a featherweight affair. Paiva (10-6) has won seven of his last eight fights with six of those wins coming by stoppage. “Sweetbread” boasts a victory over Contender Series winner Jordan Espinosa. Barberena (5-3) is the brother of UFC welterweight Bryan Barberena and competes for just the fourth time since 2016. Barberena heads intos this matchup on a three-fight win streak with all of those victories coming by submission.
