MMA Odds and Ends for Thursday: Daniel Cormier will defend his title against Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 220

FOX Sports reports that Daniel Cormier defend his light heavyweight title against Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 220 on Jan. 20 at TD Garden in Boston.

Cormier (19-1) defends his title for the first time since he was promoted to champion after Jon Jones failed drug test following UFC 214. The 38-year-old is unbeaten in his last four fights with his TKO loss to Jones turning into a No Contest. Oezdemir (15-1) is still slated to compete despite being arrested and charged with aggravated battery stemming from an altercation in Florida. The Swiss fighter has gone a perfect 3-0 in the UFC including back-to-back knockout victories over Misha Cirkunov and Jimi Manuwa. Here’s an updated look at the card.
