UFC 218 and TUF 26 Finale Main Card Opening Odds

Ultimate Fighting Championship returns next week (December 1st and 2nd) with not one but two events. The Ultimate Fighter season 26 finale will take place Friday night in Las Vegas, and it will crown the first ever UFC women’s flyweight champion. Then on Saturday, UFC heads to Detroit as Max Holloway defends his belt against the man he dethroned, Jose Aldo in a rematch of their UFC 212 main event earlier this year.

The top bouts for UFC 218 which doesn’t have odds is a likely heavyweight number one contender match-up between former title challenger Alistair Overeem and surging super-prospect Francis Ngannou. Overeem most recently won a decision against former champion Fabricio Werdum while Ngannou has finished every victory of his career including former champion Andrei Arlovski this past January.

Also on tap is a possible number one contender flyweight bout between former title challenger and Olympic gold medal-winner Henry Cejudo and rising contender Sergio Pettis. Cejudo destroyed Wilson Reis in his last fight to pick up his first stoppage win in the UFC while Pettis has won four straight bouts at 125 pounds over four credible opponents.

And we haven’t even got to the insane fight that is Eddie Alvarez against Justin Gaethje. Alvarez and Gaethje coached opposite one another for TUF 26 and the winner of their bout will be one step closer to the lightweight championship.

Last but not least, the UFC 218 pay-per-view will kick off with a thrilling women’s strawweight fight between Michelle Waterson and Tecia Torres. Torres has consistently been one of the top contenders at 115 pounds, while Waterson was most recently submitted by current champion Rose Namajunas. Both women will have something to prove come Saturday night.
