UFC officials announced that lightweight Dan Hooker will face Marc Diakiese at UFC 219, which takes place Dec. 30 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas
Hooker (14-7) hasn’t competed since his TKO victory over Ross Pearson at UFC Fight Night 110 in June. “The Hangman” has alternated between wins and losses since he signed with the UFC in 2014. The 27-year-old will be looking for back-to-back wins for the first time since June 2014. Diakiese (12-1) last saw action in July when he suffered the first loss of his career to Drakkar Klose at The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale. Despite being favored heading into the matchup, the American Top Team product lost a split decision to The MMA Lab standout, which snapped his 12-fight win streak. The 24-year-old has gone 3-1 in the Octagon with wins over Łukasz Sajewski, Frankie Perez and Teemu Packalén.

Will Brooks vs, Nik Lentz set for UFC Fight Night 121 MMAJunkie reports that Will Brooks and Nik Lentz are finally set to square off at UFC Fight Night 121 on Nov. 19 (Nov. 18 in the U.S.). Brooks (18-3) was scheduled to face Lentz earlier this month at UFC 216 before an illness pulled “The Carnie” from the matchup. The former Bellator lightweight champion has lost back-to-back fights. Lentz (27-8-2) is coming off a decision setback to Islam Makhachev at UFC 208 and is 2-1 since returning to the lightweight division.
