MMA Odds and Ends for Friday: Jon Jones breaks silence, Jim Wallhead vs. Warlley Alves set for UFC Fight Night Gdansk

Following a positive drug test at UFC 214, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones broke his silience on Thursday via his Twitter account.

Jones (21-1, 1 no contest) if found guilty, could face up to a four-year ban from MMA. Stay tuned to MMAOddsbreaker for more updates on this situation.

Jim Wallhead vs. Warlley Alves set for UFC Fight Night Gdansk

UFC officials announced that Jim Wallhead and Warlley Alves will clash on Oct. 21 at the Ergo Arena for UFC Fight Night Gdansk.

Wallhead (29-11) heads into this matchup off back-to-back losses to Jessin Ayari and Luan Chagas in both of his appearances in the UFC. The 37-year-old was on a four-fight win streak prior to his call up to the UFC. Alves (10-2) is also in the midst of a two-fight skid with losses to Bryan Barberena and Kamaru Usman. The 26-year-old, who won TUF Brazil 3, holds wins over Alan Jouban, Nordine Taleb and Colby Covington. Here’s an updated look at the card.
