MMAOddsBreaker Rankings Update: Post-UFC Fight Night 115

With UFC Fight Night 115 taking place yesterday, the MMAOddsBreaker rankings were bound to get shaken up. MMAOddsbreaker’s Brian Hemminger (@BrianHemminger) operates the rankings, which are updated after nearly every UFC event. As always, we only show changes in the rankings with this update. Heavyweight

1. Stipe Miocic
2. Cain Velasquez
3. Alistair Overeem
4. Fabricio Werdum
5. Francis Ngannou
6. Junior dos Santos
7. Ben Rothwell
8. Mark Hunt
9. Alexander Volkov (+4)
10. Derrick Lewis (-1)
11. Stefan Struve (-1)
12. Marcin Tybura (-1)
13. Curtis Blaydes (-1)
14. Vitaly Minakov
15. Junior Albini

Alexander Volkov moves up four spots after his brilliant performance in hostile territory in the main event of UFC Fight Night 115 yesterday. Volkov finally fought someone bigger and longer than him in Stefan Struve, and after making a few adjustments following the first round, he found a home for his technical boxing and really put a hurting on Struve to eventually set up a third round finish. Struve won’t be punished much for losing because heavyweight is very shallow right now and he’s probably still better than the fighters ranked below him.

Lightweight

1. Conor McGregor
2. Khabib Nurmagomedov
3. Tony Ferguson
4. Edson Barboza
5. Justin Gaethje
6. Eddie Alvarez
7. Nate Diaz
8. Michael Johnson
9. Dustin Poirier
10. Kevin Lee
11. Anthony Pettis
12. Mairbek Taisumov (+3)
13. Michael Chiesa (-1)
14. Al Iaquinta (-1)
15. Beneil Dariush (-1)

Mairbek Taisumov is an absolute animal. What he did yesterday to Felipa Silva on the UFC Fight Night 115 preliminary card was downright disgusting. Silva waded forward aggressively with some power punches and Taisumov calmly sidestepped him and landed a brutal hook to the chin to knock Silva out cold with one punch. Silva was Taisumov’s fifth straight knockout victim. Taisumov asked for a top 10 opponent next and I agree that he’s ready.
