MMA Odds and Ends for Monday: Luke Rockhold vs. David Branch headlines UFC Fight Night 116

UFC officials announced Saturday that Luke Rockhold will face former WSOF champion David Branch in the main event of UFC Fight Night 116 in Pittsburgh on September 16th.

Rockhold (15-3) hasn’t fought since he was upset by Michael Bisping at UFC 199 in July 2016, which was just his second loss in the UFC. The AKA standout was scheduled to face off with Ronaldo Souza at UFC Fight Night 101 last November but was forced to pull out due to injury.

Branch (21-3) returned to the UFC for the first time since 2011 and earned a split-decision nod over Krzysztof Jotko at UFC 211. The 35-year-old hasn’t lost since a 2012 unanimous-decision setback to Anthony Johnson at Titan FC 22.
