‘Ask Cousin Gabe’ is an article at MMA Oddsbreaker where I answer questions from readers. If you would like to ask me a question, regarding wagering, any upcoming fight cards, or MMA in general, please email it to budosophy@gmail.com and make sure to include your name and location.

Who is your favorite dog on the card? -Jake, Tallahassee, FL

I don’t love any underdog plays on this card, however, my favorite one is Cormier over Johnson. I am not confident in that play, but I think he should be the betting favorite, so I see value in him at underdog odds.

Is Bibulatov a lock? -Mike, Los Angeles, CA

No. I don’t think he is a lock, but I think there is a very good chance that he picks up the win, as the betting odds do indicate. He is a justified favorite, but I don’t see any betting value in him on the moneyline. The prop of -3.5 at -190 is worth a look, as he is most likely to win this bout via clear cut 30-27 unanimous decision, potentially earning a finish along the way. Having Mark Henry in his corner will be greatly benefiting him as well.

What do you think about Lorenz Larkin leaving the UFC and fighting for the title in Bellator right off the bat? -Mike, Andover, MA

Good for him. I don’t like the fact that he was forced to leave the UFC and hate that they couldn’t match the offer Bellator made. I believe Larkin is one of the best welterweights on the planet, and the UFC really dropped the ball with this one. The title shot in Bellator against Douglas Lima right off the bat is well-deserved. He is the former Strikeforce middleweight champion and has a win over Robbie Lawler. He is extremely talented and entertaining. It befuddles me that the UFC did not get behind him and give him a push. Some fighters like Tyron Woodley often play the racism card, and I don’t really buy it. But in Larkin’s case, it may have some truth to it.
